O paulista Goatlove surgiu quando o vocalista Roger Lombardi deixou o grupo Sunseth Midnight, em 2007. Decidido a explorar suas influências do rock (mais cru e punk), junto à sonoridade do gothic rock e hard rock, Lombardi se concentrou em composições diretas, voltadas à guitarra.
Enquanto procurava por músicos para colocar o Goatlove na estrada, Lombardi gravou três músicas com o guitarrista e produtor Rodrigo Toledo, da banda de Heavy / Thrash Metal Sangralma.
O single, intitulado Look What The Goat Dragged In, - cujas músicas estão disponíveis no site official www.goatloveweb.com - pode ser baixado gratuitamente. A parceria entre os dois funcionou tão bem que Toledo foi o primeiro a entrar em definitivo na banda.
O line-up foi completado pelo baixista do grupo de Thrash Metal Ancesttral, Renato Canonico, amigo de Lombardi de longa data, pelo baterista Alan Marques e o guitarrista Marco Nunes. Durante esse período, mais um single foi disponibilizado na internet, Automatic Fire, contendo duas músicas inéditas.
Após alguns shows e ensaios para a realização da pré-produção de seu primeiro álbum, a banda sofreu baixas com as saídas de Marques e Toledo, para trabalharem em outros projetos. Com a entrada do baterista Alexandre Watt, o grupo continuou os preparativos de seu ‘debut’ como um quarteto. Em seguida, a entrada do guitarrista Fábio Gusmão completou o line-up, finalizando as gravações do disco intitulado The Goats Are Not What They Seem. O quinteto se prepara agora para realizar a masterização do álbum, cujo lançamento está previsto para maio de 2012.

Brazilian band Goatlove started when Singer Roger Lombardi departured from the Gothic Metal act Sunseth Midnight in 2007. In order to take his rock and punk influences to a next level, along with his gothic rock and hard rock sonority, Lombardi decided to dedicate his songwriting to a more direct and guitar oriented style.
While looking for musicians to put Goatlove on the road, Lombardi recorded three songs with guitarist/producer Rodrigo Toledo, from the Heavy /Thrash Metal act Sangralma. This single, entitled Look What The Goat Dragged In, is available for free download here and in the band’s official website www.goatloveweb.com. The partnership between Lombardi and Toledo worked so well that the guitarrist was invited to join Goatlove.
The line-up was completed with long-time friend Renato Canonico, from the Thrash Metal band Ancesttral, the drummer Alan Marques and Marco Nunes on guitar. During this period, the band release another single, Automatic Fire, with two new songs, and also availabe on the group’s website.
After a few gigs and rehearsals, Toledo and Marques left the band to continue their own projects. Drummer Alexandre Watt join the group and Goatlove start working on the pre-production of it’s debut album as a quartet. Guitarrist Fábio Gusmão completed the line-up and the band finishes the recordings of the album, titled The Goats Are Not What They Seem. The album is due to be released on may of 2012.
